Robert McDermott will be in Santa Cruz Friday and Saturday November 5th & 6th presenting two lectures at the Santa Cruz Waldorf School
From Steiner to Waldorf
Friday November 6
7 – 9 PM
Dr. McDermott will give an introduction to Rudolf Steiner and the story of his life, and then offer insight into the influences and thinking that led Steiner to the creation of the Waldorf School.

Steiner and Kindred Spirits
Saturday November 7
10 AM – 12:30 PM
This program will present both the many ways in which the thought of Rudolf Steiner is incomparable, as well as ways it is comparable to that of a dozen 20th-century religious and spiritual thinkers including C. G. Jung, Martin Buber, Teilhard de Chardin, Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, various Sophiologists, educators, and ecologists.
After this event, Robert will sign copies of his latest book, Steiner and Kindred Spirits.

Dr. McDermott is president emeritus of the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and is professor and chair, Philosophy and Religion Department. He has served on the board of many institutions, including the Rudolf Steiner Institute, the Anthroposophical Society of America, and as chair of the board of Sunbridge College, Rudolf Steiner College, and the Sophia Project for Children and Mothers at Risk of Homelessness. His many works include The Essential Steiner (1984), The New Essential Steiner (2009), American Philosophy and Rudolf Steiner (2012) and the just released Steiner and Kindred Spirits.
